The 16th Global Standards Collaboration meeting (GSC 16) was held in Canda, from 31st Oct. to 3rd Nov. 2011. Chairman, Wu Hequan and Secretary-general, Yang Zemin led the CCSA delegation to attend the meeting.
During this meeting, Mr. Wei Leping, director of Science and Technology Committee of China Telecom, served as vice-chairman of GSC-16 and GTSC-9. Ms. Wang Zhiqin, director CATR/RITT, served as vice chairman of GRSC-9.
At the opening ceremony of plenary session, Chairman Wu Hequan presented CCSA’s progress of standardization, key areas of research and foreign exchange activites since the last meeting. The plenary session received 94 contributions and made a discussion to them, key topics including IMT standardization, emergency communication, security and legal interception, identity management and recognition system, IPTV, intelligent transportation system, interoperability, ICT and environment, internet of things, smart grid, cloud service, ICT information accessibility, wireless mobile charging, etc.
During the sessions of GRSC-9 and GTSC-9, participating standards organizations (PSOs) made a discussion on broadband wireless access, mobile multimedia broadcast and multicast, RRS, NGN, cybersecurity, Home Networking and other hot topics. After the discussion, the meeting formed 29 resolutions in the closing session finally.
During this meeting, delegates of CCSA submitted 8 contributions, including M2M, IMT standardization, broadband wireless access, RRS, information accessibility, IPv6 transition and intelligent Pipe.
