The Global Standards Collaboration (GSC) is an initiative of the ITU, ETSI, the United States' Committee T1 and the Japanese TTC, whose main job is to promote efficiency in international standardization activities.
GSC provides for the regular exchange of work programmes and other information in a number of agreed high-interest technical areas, and has attracted a growing number of other participants from around the world.
As its name implies, its goal is to promote global standards in these areas of common interest.
The GSC does not have a permanent secretariat. Each GSC meeting is hosted by one or more of the Participating Standards Organizations (PSOs).The host is rotated so all PSOs and the ITU have an equal opportunity to host the event. The host provides a secretariat to manage the particular event. GSC has evolved over the years to incorporate new PSOs and Observers.
